Dr. Daugherty
Dr. Daugherty attended college and veterinary school at Michigan State University graduating with honors in 2002. During her internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University, Dr. Daugherty developed an interest in internal medicine which prompted her to pursue specialty training. She completed a three year residency training and Master's degree program at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in July of 2006 and attained Board Certification in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialty of Internal Medicine in August of 2006. In her free time, Dr. Daugherty enjoys canoeing and camping with her husband and two English setters, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Daugherty works together with your primary care veterinarian as well as specialists in other areas of veterinary medicine to provide the best comprehensive care for your pet.
Melody Belcher | LVT
Internal Medicine Technician
Melody graduated from the Bel-Rea Institute in June 2005 and immediately began her career in emergency medicine. She worked in 2 specialty hospitals, as well as being a surgical technician prior to her move to Virginia. Melody came to the VESC in January of 2010 as an emergency and critical care licensed veterinary technician. While working on the emergency room floor alongside the internal medicine team her interest for this service grew and when a position opened up she swiftly applied and was accepted. Melody is currently working toward her VTS in small animal Internal Medicine. Melody enjoys spending time with her husband and son, as well as her 2 dogs, and 3 cats.
Spencer Fox
Internal Medicine Assistant
Spencer is a sophomore in college studying toward his Bachelors in biology. He has been an emergency and critical care assistant with the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center for a little over two years and is now gearing toward internal medicine. When not working or studying he is usually at home with his Irish Setter and two cats.
