Board Certified Cardiologist
Our cardiologist is an established leader in veterinary cardiac care. As such, our responsibility is to provide the most advanced cardiac care available to the community. We serve as an extension of your primary care veterinarian and offer your pet superior care through regular communication with both you and with your family veterinarian. Our vast experience, highly specialized training, and collaborative efforts provide state-of-the-art cardiac diagnostics, medical therapy, and interventional treatments for a wide variety of cardiac diseases.
Our board certified cardiologists has completed three to five years of post-doctoral training after graduation from veterinary school including a residency in cardiology and two years of extensive examinations. Our cardiologist is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine within the College of Cardiology.
Our commitment to education includes training of veterinary students and interns. We value this high level of instruction and specialization as well as our individual talents, strengths and diversity. Our goal is to advance the understanding and treatment of the disease processes that affect veterinary cardiac patients, ultimately improving the quality and length of their lives. Our commitment comes from the passion that we all share for preserving the human-animal bond.
Most echocardiograms are performed with the family present to aid in the explanation of the disease process, as well as to allow you to comfort you pet. Pets are very rarely shaved or sedated for this procedure. If your pet is having a heart rhythm abnormality, and ECG and/or a 24 hour monitor may also be recommended.
The findings will be explained thoroughly during your visit and a complete report will be sent the same day to your family veterinarian. You will also receive a report detailing the diagnosis, treatment plan and follow up care.
